Every year 32 teams compete in the National Hockey League and play a total of 82 games in the regular season. The best 16 teams then advance to the Stanley Cup Finals which includes a total of four rounds. We’re just weeks away from this year’s 2022 Stanley Cup Champions. The Tampa Bay Lightning have taken that title the past two years in the 2019-2020 and 2020-2021 season. This week four teams compete in the NHL Stanley Cup Conference Finals. In the Western Conference the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche go head to head Tuesdays, May 31st at 8:00pm ET at the Ball Arena for game one. In the Eastern Conference the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers take on game one in New York on Wednesday June 1st. Two teams will then fight for the 2022 Stanley Cup.Â

Since the age of ten, I have had a passion for hockey. There was something about the sound of the skates and the puck on the ice that just made it so soothing for me to watch before bed. My passion turned into playing when I was 14 and then at 16 I purchased season tickets for the Florida Panthers. In 2009 I then went to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. From that moment I knew I needed to travel more. I began following the Florida Panthers on the road during my college spring breaks. I went to the Colosseum to watch them play the Islanders, Madison Square Garden in New York, the Hurricanes in North Carolina and many more incredible cities. My goal was to visit every NHL arena. I’m still short of that dream but I know I will someday accomplish it. When I do accomplish it, I know it’ll be more special because I will have my husband and kids with me.
As someone who has been able to experience numerous NHL games and Stanley Cup playoff games, it is an experience you do not want to miss. The temperature in the arena is crisp, the fans are loud, and the players are aggressive and hungry for the Cup. The Blue Butterfly Travel girls can help you plan your next NHL playoff experience from hotel bookings to game days tickets. Take that dream trip you have been waiting for and cheer on your team.

Never been to an NHL game before! Don’t really have a team either lol. But my dream sporting event vacation would be a Yankees/Red Sox game in Yankee Stadium! Never been to NYC so it would be a new experience overall!
